Free Trial & Grace Period
Understanding the 7-day trial, grace period, and what happens when it ends.
Your 7-day free trial
When you sign up for Axle, you get an automatic 7-day free trial of Axle Pro:
- Duration - Exactly 7 days from signup
- Features - Access to Pro plan features (analytics, custom domains, form fields)
- Transaction limit - 50 transactions total (not the Pro limit of 500 — upgrade to unlock full capacity)
- Cost - Completely free (no credit card required)
- Cancellation - You can cancel anytime, but you won't be refunded (it was free)
The trial countdown is displayed on your dashboard so you always know when it expires.
Trial features
During your free trial, you get:
- ✅ Unlimited custom domains
- ✅ Framer component installation and configuration
- ✅ API access for custom integrations
- ✅ Transaction analytics
- ✅ Webhook support
- ✅ 10 custom form fields
- ❌ Limited to 50 transactions
- ❌ Limited support (community only)
Using your 50 transactions
The 50 transaction limit includes:
- All successful payments (regardless of amount)
- Test transactions on live domains count toward the limit
- Each transaction = 1 count (a $100 payment = 1 transaction, not 100)
Once you hit 50 transactions:
- Customers can still try to pay
- But payment buttons will stop accepting new transactions
- Your payments will fail with an error
- You'll need to upgrade to a paid plan
If you need more than 50 transactions during the trial, you can upgrade to a paid plan anytime. The upgrade takes effect immediately.
Grace period (2 days)
When your 7-day trial ends, you enter a 2-day grace period:
- Duration - 2 days after the trial expires
- What's active - Your account is still active
- Payments - Payment buttons still work and accept transactions
- Notification - You'll see a warning in your dashboard
- What to do - Subscribe to a paid plan before the grace period ends
During the grace period:
- ✅ Customers can still make payments
- ✅ Your transaction history is still available
- ✅ Dashboard is fully functional
- ⚠️ You see a prominent warning about upgrading
- ⚠️ Email reminders to subscribe
This gives you a 2-day buffer to handle any last-minute payments or decide on your plan.
Account paused (after grace period)
If you don't subscribe before the grace period ends, your account will be paused:
- Payment buttons - Stop working and show an error to customers
- Dashboard access - You can still view your data and transactions
- Data preservation - All your transaction history and settings remain intact
- Duration - Account stays paused indefinitely until you resubscribe
When your account is paused, customers see:
"Payment processing is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later or contact support."
Reactivating your account
To start accepting payments again, simply subscribe to a paid plan:
- Go to your dashboard
- Click the Upgrade button or go to Settings > Subscription
- Choose your plan (Pro at $15/month or Pro+ at $29/month)
- Complete the payment
- Your account is immediately active and ready for payments
When you reactivate:
- ✅ All your settings are restored exactly as they were
- ✅ Your transaction history is fully accessible
- ✅ Payment buttons work again immediately
- ✅ Your dashboard shows current data
There's no penalty for pausing and reactivating — you can pause and resume as many times as you need.
